How do I keep this boy still?

Braiden is doing great! Just five days after his surgery and he is "up and running" like  nothing happened.  Although I am thrilled that he is recovering well it is going to be challenging to constantly have to remind him to not run, jump, wrestle, bounce, etc., for the next 5 weeks.  Pray that I am able to gently and gracefully remind him of his limitations and also pray that he heeds the limitations placed on him.  He's my limit pusher.

Braiden is a Rockstar!

Seriously Braiden is a rockstar! I am so very impressed with how he handled surgery today.  When we were in the operating room waiting to start the anesthesia Braiden says to the room full of nurses, "Ok, let's start this."  So, in my book that makes him a total Rockstar....he's my brave hero.

The doctor did an arthrogram to see how the joint is articulating and the shape of the femural head, Dr. S. said he was pleased with the arthrogram...Yay!  He also removed the plate on his femur.  All went well.

Afterwards, aside from the pain he was doing well.  A few minutes after he was brought back to his room he was still in quite a bit of pain and was crying, but, he paused to ask me a very important question, "Mommy, on our way home can we stop at Burger King?"  He was a hungry boy.  Once we got the pain under control they let us go home.

He can bear weight on that leg as tolerated, but absolutely no running, jumping or anything with a good risk for a fall for 6 weeks.  The screw holes are an easy fracture point.

Thank you to all that prayed and sent good thoughts and love our way, we appreciate it greatly!

Who ordered this crazy weather anyways!?

We got in the van, drove towards 94, watched many people slipping and sliding, 94 gridlocked, it's supposed to be worse this evening when we would be coming home......we decided not to risk it. Rescheduling yet again. Thanks to all that prayed.

Surgery Rescheduled

Braiden's surgery to have the plate and screws removed from his femur is set for this Thursday.  Would love your prayers for a successful surgery, speedy recovery, and peace for Braiden.  And peace of mind for this anxious mama.  I'll update you all after the surgery.
